Where the journey began
My name is Gustavo Monje and my spiritual name is Krsnatma, which means, “the essence of the divine attraction.”
When I was 17, I rode a bus to Ohio for a college interview. I sat next to a quiet man who read most of the night.
“Would you like something to eat?” I offered in the morning.
“No thank you. I can’t take food right now,” he said. “I haven’t done my meditation yet. I’m a monk.”
I was stunned by his answer. I made him read and examine everything I prepared for the interview.
I didn’t realize then, that as I took an interest in what he did, I was seeking a path that would lead to the most subtle aspect of my being. My spiritual journey began.
I’m still friends with the monk I met on the bus, and over the years, have continued training in ashrams from Willow Springs, MO to District Bokaro, India. The easiest way to get to know my teachings is to watch my Youtube channel, Tantra Thoughts. Otherwise, I extend an open invitation for anyone to learn or discuss meditation with me. I’d love to help you advance on your spiritual journey through my courses, coaching, and by inviting you to join my community, the Vistara Circle, at our different locations in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC.
Aside from my spiritual work, I’ve enjoyed being a full time professor of English at Northern Virginia Community College for the past 10 years. I write songs and have recorded two CDs of original music. Soon, I’ll share an album of spiritual music and kirtan. Thank you for visiting my wesbite. Namaskar!
Three weeks later, I would drive half way across the country to meet him at my first retreat, where I learned Tantric meditation. Today, I teach meditation, organize weekly gatherings, and make videos on Tantra. I connect individuals, from all over the world, to find teachers and communities where they can nurture their spiritual growth.
